Mondays in May with May!

Between the warm spring air, flowers blooming, and how trendy bright colors are right now Amy Tangerine’s new line Sketchbook combines all of these wonderful things and brings them into a paper crafting collection. Today I have two brand new projects to share with you!

This line works fantastically with any neutral from white to kraft to grey or black. Not only that, but items are easily used for smaller projects like cards, or full sized layouts. Today I have two brand new projects to share with you – first up a card where I’ve used a bit of glossy accents and distress stickles to create a fast and simple card.

I absolutely adore the watercolor look and feel that many of the papers and embellishments in this line have. What would take me some time and mess to create myself, I can have instantly and in beautifully bright hues.

Card Supplies:

I challenged myself to try to make a 12” layout (on a cardstock base) using the 6” mini paper pad and my stash of new Sketchbook goodies. With a little stitching, lining up some patterned papers, and creative placement of a few things – you’d never know I didn’t have full size sheets of patterned paper! Plus, I love how the patterns are shrunk down and how that looks on this page.

The black outline on a lot of the accents is great – it adds that pop of contrast that I love in my pages.

This layout is very straight forward – just a pair of 4x6 photos that I wanted to feature, and some creative layering. What I was happy to find is that the colors aren’t overwhelming, or too powerful. Mixed with the right amount of neutrals, and photos that aren’t overly busy, it’s the perfect match!

Layout Supplies:

I can see myself working with this line for spring and summer photos, vacation photos, general girlie photos, and so much more. It is incredibly versatile, easy to use, and it works well with so many of my favorite lines and with so many of my favorite color mediums.

Before I go, I’d like to share some of my favorite ink, paint, and distress stickles to compliment this line:
